ADA is a School of International Affairs and Business preparing innovative leaders who will be able to meet challenges of global competition. Drawing on the best case practices from around the world, our academic programs are delivered through degree and non-degree, full-time and part-time, resident and distance education programs.
We offer Executive Education, Degree Programs and Certificate Program.
Executive Education
ADA’s Advanced Foreign Service Program (AFSP) is a highly flexible executive education program offering professional training to Azerbaijani civil servants working in the area of international affairs. The AFSP is designed to enhance skill sets of these officials and prepare them for public sector leadership. Participants may choose from six areas of study, including Consular, Political, Economic, Public Diplomacy, Leadership Development and Area Studies.
Since inception, AFSP has enrolled hundreds of foreign service officers and civil servants. The program gets conducted at the entry and mid levels.
Degree Programs
Diplomacy and International Affairs
As School of International Affairs, ADA offers rigorous higher-education for Bachelor's and Master’s candidates. The curriculum focuses on the academic study and practical application of politics, economics and law. Our degree programs in the field of international affairs include:
Master of Arts in Diplomacy and International Affairs (MADIA)
Bachelor of Arts in International Studies (BAIS)
As part of MADIA, in-depth academic specializations are offered in International Security and Conflict Resolution and Caspian Basin Studies. BAIS requires two years of general education, thereafter, an in-depth specialization in international studies.
MADIA, at full capacity, will be comprised of 100 students, including 25 percent from outside Azerbaijan. The student body is balanced by gender. Ages of MA students range from 22 to 34 with an average student age of 25. Ages of BA students range from 18 to 24 with an average student age of 20.
Business Administration
As part of its gradual expansion into a university, ADA has launched a new undergraduate degree program.
Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)
BBA curriculum focuses on in-depth study of functional areas, such as Accounting, Finance and Marketing. BBA class, at full capacity, will be comprised of 200 students, including 25 percent from outside Azerbaijan. The student body is balanced by gender. Ages of students range from 18 to 24 with an average student age of 20.
All degree programs require intensive language study through ADA’s English for Academic and Professional Purposes Program. Upon graduation, students are fully prepared for work at a variety of public and private institutions, including Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, foreign and local government bodies, international organizations, financial institutions, foreign and local private entities dealing with international affairs. We consider on-the-job training to be a valuable part of today's education. Each student at ADA, therefore, has the opportunity to take part in internships during the time that they are enrolled.
Summer School
Each year, ADA conducts Summer School for 2 weeks in July. Separate from other school coursework, the Summer School is a certificate program.
The Summer School is aimed at bringing together world-renowned scholars, academicians and experts together with the ADA students and faculty to discuss and gain better understanding of issues of global importance and their practical application.
Upon completion of the program, the participants are issued a certificate by ADA.
