Rebecca Cheney

Rebecca Cheney teaches English for Academic and Professional purposes at the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy in the program for both the Master of Arts in Diplomacy and International Affairs program and the Advanced Foreign Service Program.  Rebecca holds a Master of Arts degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and a certificate in Language Program Administration from the Monterey Institute of International Studies.  She also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies from Utah State University.  She taught in the various Intensive English programs at the Monterey Institute of International Studies in Monterey, California from 2007 to 2009.  Rebecca has coordinated several language programs and a teacher-training program, for which she developed the curriculum and also taught.  She has also trained in-service and pre-service teachers in a religious setting.  Besides, Rebecca has been an English teacher in Taiwan, has taught in public schools and in the Blind Preschool of the Utah Schools for the Deaf and the Blind, and has worked with autistic children.  She was an editorial assistant for the Modern Language Journal, an editor in six other languages for a fitness corporation, and a freelance editor.  She has also worked at the International Monetary Fund in Washington, DC and lived in São Paulo, Brazil where she was a missionary for a year and a half.
