Rector Hafiz Pashayev has named Dr. Patrick Quinn as the new Provost/Vice Rector for Academic Affairs at ADA effective August 15, 2013. Dr. Quinn is Professor of Civilization Studies at the Alliance of Civilizations Institute, which is part of Fatih Sultan Mehmet Waqf University in Istanbul. Dr. Quinn was formerly the Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences at Chapman University in Orange County, California from 2009 to 2012. He was the Chair of the Department of English at the University of Mississippi from 2006 to 2009 and the Dean of Humanities and Arts at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Massachusetts from 2002 to 2006.

Springer Environemental Science and Pollution Research (ESPR) journal dedicated a special issue to 11th Inetrnational HCH and Pesticides Forum in Gabala, Azerbaijan with ADA Faculty member Gulchohra Aliyeva being invited as a guest editor of the issue. ADA announces the Research Fellowship for 2013-2014

The Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy (ADA) is pleased to announce the ADA Research Fellowship for 2013-2014. The goal of the fellowship is to support rigorous independent postgraduate research in all disciplines of social sciences and humanities by young Azerbaijani scholars, who are pursuing or have recently completed their PhD studies abroad. Fellowship recipients are expected to develop their initial research proposals into full-fledged academic papers of publishable quality. Papers will be reviewed and evaluated by a selection committee comprised of ADA faculty and distinguished scholars from recognized universities worldwide. Fellowship recipients are expected to present their research findings at ADA's Eighth PhD Workshop, which will be held on December 23-24, 2013, in Baku, Azerbaijan.
