At the first "ADA Music Night" dedicated to the great Azerbaijani composer Uzeyir Hajibeyov the stars of the Azerbaijani opera stage, People's Artists of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mansum Ibrahimov and Aygun Bayramova performed a scene from the first opera of the Muslim world "Leyli and Majnun" by Uzeyir Hajibeyov. 2012 has been a milestone year for Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy due to the inauguration of its new campus on September 21, 2012. On that day, President Ilham Aliyev took part in the opening ceremony and delivered a key note address in front of ADA students, faculty and heads of diplomatic missions of the Republic of Azerbaijan, gathered in Baku for bi-annual conference of the Azerbaijani ambassadors. The new campus hosts School of Public and International Affairs, School of Business, Library and Student Center. It is called “green and smart campus” due to the usage of renewable energy from geothermal sources, and complete automated system of academic and facility management.

On October 24, 2012, the Caspian Center for Energy and Environment (CCEE) at ADA held a workshop on “Raising Environmental Awareness on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) in Azerbaijan.” The event was organized in conjuction with UNEP-ECORES, NatCom (Azerbaijan) and the International HCH and Pesticides Association (Netherlands) with financial assistance from OSCE Baku office. ADA held its first "Country Days" at the new campus hosting Turkmenistan.
