ADA's Executive Corporate Programs are still accepting applications (VIDEO)

Application to ADA’s Executive Corporate Programs is still open. These programs are designed for young and senior managers and executives from public and private sectors in Azerbaijan. 

The first Executive Corporate Programs will be conducted by leading experts from the United States. Currently, the following programs are available: Human Resource Management (May 30-31), Management Communications (June 7-8), and Selection Interviewing (June 1). Deadline for submitting applications is May 23, 2012. To learn more about our programs and how to apply please click here.

They courses be conducted in both English and Azeri languages. The participants will receive ADA Certificate at the end of each course.

 



ADA welcomes incoming MADIA 2014 class

Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy organized a reception for the newly admitted Azerbaijani students of the MADIA 2014 class. This year, fifty students successfully passed the rigorous selection process and the interview and were admitted to ADA. Thirty of them are Azerbaijani citizens, who are the graduates of local Universities like Baku State University, Academy of Public Administration, Azerbaijan State Economy University, Baku Slavic University, Gafgaz University, Khazar University, and University of Languages. 

The academic backgrounds of our Master's students are very diverse, ranging from international relations, regional studies, law, economics, communication, philology, public administration among many. 

 



US National Defense University representatives visit ADA
8 may 2012


May 7, 2012 - The representatives of the National Defense University and the US State Department visited ADA. Rector of ADA, Amb. Hafiz Pashayev greeted the guests and Vice rector Fariz Ismailzade made a presentation about ADA, its new campus, and the strategy of development. He noted that ADA started functioning as a local FSI in 2007 (The Foreign Service Institute (FSI) - the Federal Government's primary training institution for officers and support personnel of the U.S. foreign affairs community), but very soon has started offering a graduate and undergraduate programs in international relations. Today, ADA is a school of international relations and business, which is gradually turning into a full-pledge university with the most modern university campus in Azerbaijan.

The meeting continued with a Q&A session that touched upon the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the roles of the US and Russia in the solution of the conflict. The parties also discussed the future strategy of Azerbaijan relating to the placement of the Internally Displaced People and refugees of Karabakh in Azerbaijan.

 



ADA Holds Haji Zeynalabdin Taghiyev Award Ceremony at the New Campus

ADA students, faculty and staff visited the new library building at the Dede Qorqud Campus on May 2, 2012. 

The visit marked ADA’s Haji Zeynalabdin Taghiyev Award ceremony, which was presented to the ADA Green Club members (MADIA’13 students) for excellence in teamwork, responsible and active citizenship. 

Martha Speirs, Director of ADA Library, made an introductory speech about the future projects and activities of the library. 

 



ADA Takes Part at TISA International FAIR

Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy (ADA) participated at an international fair, followed by a panel discussion, which was organized by the International School of Azerbaijan (TISA) in Baku.

The ADA Admissions' representative, Ms. Gunay Ziyadova, gave an introductory presentation about ADA to the students of the 10-11th grades, majority of them being foreign students. 

 



Alla Savelyeva, MADIA'13, Took Bronze Medal at Essay Competition by IDEA Campaign

Alla Savelyeva, MADIA 2013 student, won the thrid place and took a bronze medal in the essay competition entitled “Send your message to Rio+20”. The competition was organized under the International Dialogue for Environmental Action (IDEA) Campaign.

The competition aimed at mobilizing the Azerbaijani youth to the “Rio+20” UN summit on sustainable development to be held in Rio-de-Janeiro in June 2012, and to encourage them to think about the current global environmental issues facing the planet Earth. 

 



ADA Seventh PhD Workshop to take place in Ankara, Turkey

The Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy (ADA) is pleased to announce its Seventh PhD Workshop. The ADA Seventh PhD Workshop is part of ADA’s PhD Development and Support Program and will take place on June 14-15, 2012, on the Middle East Technical University’s (METU) campus in Ankara, Turkey.

The Workshop will bring together PhDs and PhD candidates in all disciplines of the social sciences and humanities, with special, but not exclusive, emphasis on political science, business administration (marketing, finance, operations management), and public affairs.

 



Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy launches Executive Corporate Programs

Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy (ADA) has announced the launch of new Executive Corporate Programs designed for young and senior managers and executives from public and private sectors in Azerbaijan. 

Through Open Enrollment and Customized Programs ADA offers short term training courses in Strategy, HR, Marketing, Finance, Business Ethics and Communication Skills. Open Enrollment Programs will be open to employees from any companies and organizations. Customized Programs will be developed to meet the specific training needs of a single organization.

 



Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy becomes AMCHAM member

Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy became a member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan (AmCham).  

This is an exciting opportunity for ADA to connect with the business community in Baku in order to build lasting connections within the private sector. As ADA launches its upcoming Business School, membership with AmCham will help strengthen links with the business sector in the country and abroad. It will also help ADA to promote its upcoming corporate programs to be offered through the Executive Education programs within the business network to help companies and organizations enhance their business education and leadership capabilities. 

 



MADIA'12 student Nahid Jafarov successfully completes a semester at GCSP

ADA student Nahid Jafarov successfully completed a semester of studies at the Geneva Center for Security Policy (GCSP) in Geneva, Switzerland. The study program lasted from January 9, 2012 to March 23, 2012. 

The study program was designed to bring together students and professionals from different fields and disciplines of various countries in order to deepen and enhance their knowledge about the security issues of the European Union. The program offered 9 topics, each of which spanned one week. At the eve of the NATO week, program participants had a chance to visit SHAPE (Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe) - NATO headquarters in Brussels, Belgium.  

 



ADA and Diplomatic School of Spain signed a memorandum of cooperation

Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy (ADA), with the initiative and support of the Embassy of the Azerbaijan Republic to Spain, signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Diplomatic School of Spain in Madrid, Spain. 

The agreement envisions the exchange of students and lecturers as well as organization of courses on Caspian Basin for Spanish diplomats.

Application deadline for 2012 Baku Summer Energy School is 23 April, 2012. The 2012 Baku Summer Energy School will be held on July 7-20, 2012 in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The Baku Summer Energy School is an annual certificate program of the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy (ADA) held in partnership with the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR). It brings together world-renowned scholars, academicians and policy makers to examine and gain a better understanding of global energy and environment issues and their practical application. 



Advanced Foreign Service Program graduates completed internships abroad

Ten graduates of the Advanced Foreign Service Program (AFSP) Fall 2011 have successfully completed their one-month internship at the embassies of Azerbaijan in the UK, Czech Republic, France, Italy, Germany and Belgium.

The graduates of AFSP comprised the servants of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Emergency Situations, Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population, and the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of Azerbaijan.

ADA Celebrates its 6th anniversary with book discussion and first ADA Oscars ceremony

ADA celebrated its 6th anniversary on March 6, 2012. Started with Rector Hafiz Pashayev's "Racing Up Hill" book discussion, the celebration continued with the OSCARS'12 ceremony initiated by the MADIA'13 Student Government.

The First ADA Ocars ceremony had five categories with three winners for each. The categories were chosen two weeks prior to the event through a special survey developed by the Student Government's President Tural Mustafayev and the Vice-President Volodymyr Gulyk. The candidates were chosen and voted from three different groups: ADA's bachelor's and master's students and the ADA staff members. The ceremony was hosted by the MADIA'13 student James Balzano who with his acute sense of humor turned the ceremony into one spectacular show.



Executive Education starts admissions to Caspian Basin Studies program

Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy (ADA) is now accepting applications to the new Certificate Program for Foreign Diplomats focusing on Azerbaijan and the Caspian Basin region and offered for foreign diplomats already stationed in or expected to be posted to Azerbaijan in the near future. 

The program will last from April 23-28. The program offers intensive courses and interactive discussions with the representatives from private and public sector. High-ranking representatives of SOCAR, State Oil Fund, Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Office of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan as well as Ambassadors of some of the CIS countries in Azerbaijan are invited as guest speakers of the CBS program.

 



Seminar on "successful interview" by Daniel Nagy
17 february 2012


Daniel Nagy, former Associate Dean at Duke University gave a seminar on "successful interview". He talked shared important tips of how to win the interview, be it for education or professional purposes. The seminar took place at the ADA Book Center.

55 students from different universities of Baku attended the presentation and asked questions regarding the preparation for professional and academic interviews.

 



Country Series Continue with "A Day in Gambia"

MADIA'13 student from Gambia, Haddy Jeng, made a presentation on her country for the ADA community.

Ms. Jeng took the audience on a cultural journey where guests discovered Gambia - the smiling coast of Africa. The event celebrated the 47th anniversary of independence of Gambia.

 



Baku Summer Energy School 2012 is now accepting applications
9 february 2012


Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy (ADA) together with SOCAR is organizing the Baku Summer Energy School on July 7-20, 2012.

SOCAR, the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, the Ministry of Industry and Energy, the State Oil Fund, Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as representatives of foreign oil companies operating in Azerbaijan will join the summer school.

 



FIFA presentation on FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup 2012

The FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup organization committee members held a presentation for ADA students on volunteering and employment opportunities in the concerning tournament. They spoke about current open job vacancies, which ADA students may apply for.

The Organization committee of FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup 2012, Azerbaijan strongly encourages students to participate as volunteers, which will enable them to network with guests from different countries and broaden their professional experience.
