On July 9, 2009, Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy held a presentation of its first two publications: Azerbaijan in Global Politics: Crafting Foreign Policy and Azerbaijan in the World: Volume 1, 2008. The presentation took place at Hyatt Regency Baku Hotel and was organized within the framework of the International Conference dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Azerbaijan Diplomatic Service. The conference, and the presentation, was attended by a large number of MFA and government officials, international scholars and regional experts.
The first book, Azerbaijan in Global Politics: Crafting Foreign Policy”, focuses on the evolution of Azerbaijan’s Foreign Policy in pre- and post-Soviet times, regional security and economic challenges, energy developments and bilateral and multilateral relations of Azerbaijan. It gives an excellent overview of nation building process and diplomatic activity in Azerbaijan for the sake of stable, prosperous and peaceful Caucasus.
The second book, Azerbaijan in the World: Volume 1, 2008, is a hard copy of the first year of production of the biweekly online publication, which ADA has been publishing since February 2008. The book, like the biweekly itself, includes a selection of essays, commentaries, book reviews, and interviews with ambassadors accredited to Azerbaijan, as well as other foreign policy practitioners and experts which have appeared in "Azerbaijan in the World". Chronology, a special section of the book, covers key developments in Azerbaijan’s interaction with the world, including official, working and state visits, and public statements and milestone events.
Conference participants were provided with an opportunity to hear from the editors and contributors about their works. The presentation was followed by discussions on regional politics and economics.
