Energy Politics and Economics - First Summer Energy Academy at ADA

Baku,Azerbaijan-The Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy launched the first in its series of Baku Summer Energy Academy on July 3-12, 2009. This summer academy was held in partnership with the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) and with support from Cambridge Centre for Energy Studies at the University of Cambridge, UK and Center for Energy, Marine Transportation and Public Policy at the Columbia University in New York, USA.

The 2009 Baku Summer Energy Academy examined major issues in energy politics and economics in the contemporary international system. A special emphasis was put on the unique challenges and perspectives of energy exporters, addressing issues such as the current dynamics of oil and gas markets, investments in energy production under price volatility, impact of emerging climate change regimes on energy exporters, and revenue managementThe program was interactive in its format and provided extensive opportunity for professionals in the field of energy to interact and build long-lasting ties.  It also gave opportunity to meet public and private sector leaders from Azerbaijan as well as other countries of the Caspian region.

Upon completion of the program, the participants were issued a certificate by the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy.
