Baku, Azerbaijan – On April 22, Dr. Norman Graham, Director of the Center for European, Russian and Eurasian studies at Michigan State University spoke at the Global Perspectives series of ADA on “US-Russian Relations: Remembering the Past, Facing the Future”.
Dr. Graham talked about NATO and EU enlargement, the resurgence of Russia, tension on Poland and Czech Republic due to the anti missile defense initiative of Pentagon, and many other issues which have had an impact on the region.
He noted that with the new US Administration and the 'reset' policy towards Russia, the Eurasian region has became less politically unstable, as witnessed in the joint support for reconciliation between Armenia and Turkey, non-interference in the Ukrainian elections and the recent arms reduction agreements.
The lecture followed by a lively Q&A session.
