Baku, Azerbaijan- Another excitement event at the ADA: Career Management Center organized a roundtable discussion with MADIA 2012 students, who interned abroad last summer.
It is now the second successful year of internship placements for MADIA students. Overwhelming majority of MADIA 2012 class has fulfilled their internship programs with the leading international organizations, ministries and embassies around the world.
During 2-3 months program, students received first-hand experience on foreign policy issues, international political and economic relations. The students also took part in meetings, briefings with Azerbaijani embassies, officials from various ministries, including Foreign Affairs, members of parliament, think-tank organizations, and members of academia. From Vienna to Rome, from Brussels to Prague and from Washington D.C. to Moscow ADA students developed hands-on temporary work experience in their respective areas. Interns not only gained practical work experience in a field that they intended to pursue but also build experience in the international platform. White House, European Commission, European Parliament, NATO offices and OSCE Parliamentary Assembly are some of the institutions that welcomed our students for their sessions and numerous high-level official meetings.
Today MADIA 2012 students shared their experiences with younger peers and talked to them about importance of internship experience and tips how to look for best opportunities. Another great feature is “Mentoring by Ambassador Program” of CMC that enables interns to build close cooperation, idea exchange and get guidance of Azerbaijani Ambassadors.
Overall, last year, 13 MADIA 2012 students interned in Azerbaijani missions in Washington, Prague, Brussels, Rome, OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Vienna, and Hungarian embassy in Baku.
