Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy :: Library
A library is an essential cornerstone of any academic institution, and ADA’s substantial foreign language library will serve as a first-of-its kind resource in Azerbaijan and the region. Boasting abundant physical and electronic collections with a plan to include 100,000 volumes within 8 years, the library will stand as a distinguished campus landmark that will enrich both students and the nation of Azerbaijan as a whole. Thanks to significant investment by Azerbaijan’s government and others, this impressive repository and display of knowledge will be made available to the general public.
ADA has contracted Blackwell Library Services to develop its library.
Cutting Edge Technology
With a sophisticated technological infrastructure, the library will be at the forefront of information storage, retrieval, and delivery. Featuring the very latest in multimedia, the library’s systems will ensure that students will have access to any needed equipment or technology.
Comprehensive Information
The ADA library will include all information sources essential to the education and training of world-class diplomats and will feature all forms of educational and research material in the broad subject areas of international relations, international organizations, history, economics, and law. Specialized areas will include conflict resolution, energy policy and development, business and finance, and security studies.
Library resources will come from around the world, with particular geographic emphasis on Azerbaijan, the Caucasus, Iran, and the Caspian Sea region. Collections will include books, periodicals, databases, video and sound recordings, and maps. Collections will primarily be in English, but materials in other languages—notably Azerbaijani, Russian and Farsi—will also be included.
