Clubs and OrganizationsStudent Clubs at ADA allow our students to engage in exciting projects that hone their academic skills and expose them to a world of complex and exciting global issues. They learn how to interact more effectively with each other and with professionals in a wide variety of fields. ADA Football Team One of the most exciting sports activity at ADA is regular football games. Our students play against faculty. The games are attended by passionate fans of both sides. However, faculty and students team up when playing a match against football teams from various schools, institutions, alumni groups etc. Arts and Culture The Club helps students to remain informed about ongoing events in cultural life of the city such as theatres, cinemas, concerts, festivals, exhibitions, and special ceremonies. Activities are not limited with information dissemination only. The Club suggests ways to get students involved and attend shows as a group. Moreover, the club also organizes activities related to culture and art within ADA. Created by the women diplomats of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the goal of AWDC is to serve as a resource and support network for women diplomats seeking to achieve their highest potential and to assist them in their professional growth through leadership development, education, exchange of knowledge and information and promoting and encouraging both personal and professional contacts. One-on-one exposure to the high-level speakers that visit the ADA campus is what makes this club special. Students generate lists of speakers to be invited to speak on campus, extend and follow up on those invitations, and then, serve as hosts when speakers visit. Majority of speakers include foreign ambassadors posted in Azerbaijan. This social responsibility club focuses on giving back to Azerbaijani society through the practical application of classroom learning to real world challenges. This volunteer/community service group chooses a non-profit organization, orphanage, school or business and helps with its particular needs. The club also works to increase vitality in and around ADA neighborhood by promoting ideas of maintaining the neighborhood clean, recycling, urban design and improvements and small business development. Heritage Studies Club This club is formed around the idea that the best way to learn about our country, our culture and challenges faced by us and by our neighbors is to visit and explore. Club members make trips to regions of Azerbaijan and other countries in the region. While on travel, the club visits academic institutions, government bodies and cultural sites such as museums, theatres and parks. The club aims to equip students with knowledge and background about Azerbaijan and its immediate neighborhood. Talent Club Organizing regular mini-concerts, exhibitions and fairs, carrying out similar joint projects with students from other universities in Azerbaijan are the main activities of the Talent Club. The club is designed to provide students with the opportunity to demonstrate and improve their various talents at ADA, thus, make their student life memorable. |
