The Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy seeks candidates for Dean of Student Services position. The Dean of Student Services provides administration and leadership for assigned student services programs, services and staff; provide direction for assigned programs and student support services including management of a wide variety of student services functions or activities.
Required Qualification
- A master’s degree from an accredited university
- 5+ years experience in education
- Excellent communication skills in Azerbaijani and English
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent listening, interpersonal, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Effective time management skills and ability to multi-task
- Sensitivity to the needs and concerns of a diverse group of students
- Strong managerial and team building skills
- Proficiency with relevant computer programs
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, supervision and administrative direction to all programs and services in the division for effectiveness and efficiency
- Supervise and evaluate the performance of the Director of Career Management Center and the Coordinator of International Students
- Assess activities and initiatives of Student Services department with end goal of improvement of programs, activities, and services within the division
- Review and evaluate assigned programs and services; recommend and implement approved plans and policies to facilitate and improve the operations and programs of Student Services
- Support a climate that promotes and expects innovation, cross-cultural effectiveness and improved service to students and the community
- Prepare class schedule and teaching assignments, monitor enrollment and maintain class size
- Supervise, and engage in strategic planning in the areas of residence life, orientation, judicial affairs, academic support services, career services, health services, student activities
- Develop and generate statistical data and reports related to Student Services programs
- Administer the Student Code of Conduct due process and student discipline; adjudicate a student appeals and grievances
- Work cooperatively with staff, coordinators, managers and administrators to achieve established goals and objectives for all programs within the division
- Ensure integration of Admissions and Financial Aid departments with all other student services and academic programs to address and meet student needs
- Coordinate activities pertaining to graduation ceremonies
- Research, develop and implement student success and retention systems
- Offer new approaches and programs to respond to changing and developing needs of students
