“Big Data Day Baku 2019” was held at ADA University

ADA University hosted the 5th International Forum of "Big Data Day Baku 2019" (BDDB2019) under the slogan “Transforming Big Data into Big Value”. The one-day event held with the support of Pasha Bank was designed to bring together the local and international experts, and industrial representatives to address the impact of Big Data on the decision-makers from the public-private and non-governmental sectors.

On this conference, the guest speaker Prof. Ricardo Baeza-Yates from the Northeastern University delivered the presentation, titled “Big Data, Machine Learning, and Justice”. According to Professor Baeza-Yates, “1.1 % of Twitter content is never seen. In search [engines] we use diversity, novelty, selectivity criteria while extracting the most relevant information from vast volumes and different types of data.”

This year’s conference featured the lectures conducted by Dr. Seifedine Kadry, Professor of Applied Statistics from Beirut University, the well-known experts as well as the poster presentation of ADA University students.

BDDB2019 was also the perfect opportunity from the interested parties for becoming familiar with the Big Data application of BP and SOCAR the first time ever.

Big Data is the “fuel" of the modern era and also the highest-priority term of modern computer technology & data mining. Thus, this conference is a long-awaited event of Big Data analytics and practitioners for widening their horizons, to exchange ideas about the new data tools and methodologies, and also to get valuable advice and to create network opportunities on premise.
