GPLS goes ahead with Ambassador Vygaudas Ušackas

On May 2, Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Ambassador Vygaudas Ušackas visited ADA University to deliver a lecture on the theme “The West and Russia: Handling Clash of the World Views” in the framework of the "Global Perspectives Lecture Series" of ADA University. Former diplomat, the European Union's (EU) ambassador to Afghanistan and Russia, outlined the political frame of the European Union-Russia diplomatic relations, geopolitical confrontation and plunging ties between the EU and Russia, and regional interest of two sides in general from a broader context.

Talking about Europe’s control over Russia’s access to oceans and its economic challenges, Mr. Ušackas, as a former Ambassador to Russia shared his personal views by adding: “Russia needs to balance its budget, prevent capital outflow and reduce inflation for ensuring its economic security”.  “After a quarter century of military weakness, Russia came back as a serious military force in Eurasia,” said the experienced diplomat while sharing his notes.
