ADA School

Established in 2019, ADA School offers education in English language for Grade 10 and Grade 11. Combining national curriculum of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the academic experience of ADA University, ADA School curriculum enhances learning experiences with skills and values.

The curriculum offers a breadth of knowledge in multiple disciplines combined with communication and leadership skills much needed in the 21st century.

With the global outlook and traditions of academic excellence, the school alumni become competitive in admission processes to universities, whether through State Examination Center (SEC) or SAT exams. ADA School alumni are also eligible for admission to ADA University on special terms.

Our Mission

We are a group of educators who are working collaboratively to research best practices in high school education around the world and adopt them to local conditions. We identify the latest content in different subject areas and develop and deliver curricula that nurture students’ cognitive, emotional, and physical growth. We also ensure an environment where students and teachers enjoy working together to learn, discover, and innovate in all major disciplines equally.

Our Teaching Philosophy

Our teaching philosophy is to inspire students to love learning, build knowledge together with their teachers, apply it in real-life predictable and unpredictable contexts, and experiment with it. In our teaching, knowledge is the means and competency is the end result.

Our Curriculum

Our curriculum is the competency-based curriculum that aims to cultivate school graduates (known as ADAlilar) who are able to confidently communicate in English in social, cultural, and academic contexts while also being competent in the national language of Azerbaijan and at least one foreign language; who propose creative solutions to local and global problems of the world drawing on their knowledge of history, geography, language, and culture; who are fluent in science and technology, and can collect, synthesize and quantitatively analyze and interpret information to draw conclusions on physical and natural world. The subjects offered in the School curriculum serve the above purpose from six perspectives.

Admission Process

ADA School accepts applications to Grade 10 only.

Application deadline for 2024-2025 academic year: June 25, 2024.

Admission to ADA School is a three-stage process:

  1. Submission of English Test Results
  2. Submission of Online Documents and Application Form  
  3. Submission of Math Exam Results

Step 1 - Obtaining English Language Certificate

Admission to ADA School requires a certain level of English language proficiency within a range shown below: 

For national curriculum:

  • Duolingo online English Test - 85 and above (learn more here)
  • IELTS Academic - 5.0 and above
  • TOEFL IBT - 55 and above (learn more here)
For IB Diploma Programme:

  • Duolingo - 115 and above (with the Writing score 85-105)
  • IELTS- 6.0 and above (with the Writing score 5.5-6.5) 
  • TOEFL - 92 and above (with the Writing score 18-24) 

Step 2 - Submission of Online Documents and Application Form

Here is the list of required documents: 

  • School transcript of the first semester for Grade 9
  • National ID (for Azerbaijani citizens) or passport (for international citizens);
  • Birth certificate;
  • Recent photo (3x4);
  • English language certificate (Duolingo or IELTS Academic or TOEFL IBT)
  • Non-refundable application fee: 50 AZN (can be paid online only)
Note: While filling out the application form the program of study should be selected accordingly (National curriculum or IB Diploma Programme).

Step 3 -Submission of Math Exam result

All students, who apply to ADA School from schools of Azerbaijan, are required to submit the result of Mathematics Exam (9th grade), conducted by the State Examination Center(SEC).

All students, who apply to ADA School from schools outside Azerbaijan,
 will be invited for ADA School Internal Admission Math Exam. 

The minimum passing score for Math exam is 60 points. 

Tuition and Costs

ADA School charges a Flat Fee to underwrite the cost of education. The tuition fee for National Curriculum is 8,000 AZN, for IB Diploma Programme - 11,000 AZN. The fees do not include books and supplies, lunch and other expenses.

Merit-based Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to incoming high school students for their outstanding academic performance prior to being enrolled at ADA School National Curriculum only.

Incoming high school students, who secured 1st, 2nd or 3rd place in the 9th grade Republic Subject Olympiads, will receive 100% tuition fee waiver for the duration of their studies at ADA School only, if they maintain minimum 3.0 annual GPA. Students who fail to meet the above requirements are not eligible for the merit-based scholarship in the following academic year.
