ADA University continues to bring prominent professionals to speak about fundamental topics that deeply concern modern societies. This time, we invited Clive Marshall to deliver the seminar titled, "The danger of a single narrative: The importance of plurality in civil society" in the framework Global Perspectives Lecture Series (GPLS).
Clive Marshall is the Chief Executive of PA Media Group, a portfolio of specialist media companies that includes PA Media, the national news agency of the United Kingdom and Ireland.
Clive Marshall will discuss the notion of media plurality in modern, civil society. Drawing on examples from the UK, this region and around the world, he will explore how the worlds of politics and journalism, in particular, can often come into conflict, as well as the challenges this can present and how they might be overcome. He will also question whether giving an equal share of voice to all sides of the argument acts as a help or hindrance to the principles of state and statehood.
The lecture is being jointly organized with the Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Baku.
