Position summary
Specialist, Accounts Payable at the Department of Finance and Resource Planning records daily accounting transactions in the company’s ERP system; prepares and processes payments through the e-banking system; maintains financial documentation; and provides payment status information to staff and vendors.
Responsibilities
- Post daily accounting transactions accurately in the company’s ERP system, including invoices, payment orders, and other related documents;
- Receive payment documents from the Procurement Department and cross-check them against the checklist of required payment documents;
- Prepare local and international payments in the e-banking system;
- Prepare local and international payments in the State Treasury Agency (DXA) system;
- Maintain accurate archiving of financial documents in both hard copy and electronic formats;
- Communicate with vendors and staff regarding payment status and other payment-related inquiries;
- Provide support to the external audit team by preparing and providing necessary documentation and reports during the annual audit process;
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail communication and maintain related filing;
- Execute other daily accounting tasks as assigned by the supervisor;
- Replace the Supervisor when required, including preparing tax returns and performing other necessary tax-related operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or any related subject.
- Minimum 3 years of work experience in accounting.
- Knowledge of local Tax legislation.
- Knowledge of IFRS and GAAP.
- Ability to multitask with strong organizational and analytical skills required.
- Must be capable of maintaining a high level of performance in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel (advanced Excel skills preferable), Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, is essential.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build partnerships and work with all levels of employees and management.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality always.
