Master of Arts in Diplomacy and International Affairs

With current unpredictability and complexity of global affairs, it has never been more important to prepare professionals who can bring positive change. The Master of Arts in Diplomacy and International Affairs is a two-year interdisciplinary program that prepares analytical thinkers with complex problem-solving skills through its rich cross-discipline and experiential study program, internship and networking opportunities. These graduates will be skilled communicators and collaborators who understand how local issues transcend national boundaries in such an extraordinarily integrated world that we live in. This degree will open them wide range of career opportunities in diplomacy, international organizations, and/or government or pursue PhD research.

The program is taught in the daytime throughout 5 semesters, including one Summer term. Limited opportunities are also offered for those interested in spending one semester abroad as an exchange student. Alongside the major core courses, students take 3 elective courses after completing their first year. Close to the end of their studies, students apply their knowledge to real-world scenarios by working on a Capstone project. Students who choose research track write Master’s thesis during their second year.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Bachelor`s GPA
  • Logic Subscore of the SEC/DIM Exam
  • Essay on a given question (in the application form):

    “In the digital age, information is abundant but trust is scarce. How should government, media, or citizens respond to the challenge of misinformation? Propose a realistic approach and justify it.”

Note: There is no minimum required score for the abovementioned criteria, but higher results will strengthen your overall application.

 

The SPIA Admissions Committee reviews all applications holistically, ensuring that your strengths in one area can complement and balance others. No single factor determines admission, since ADA University values balance, effort, and potential.

Only selected applicants may be invited for an interview to further discuss their goals and program fit.

Graduate Assistantship

Each year, top 5 students are selected to be part of prestigious Graduate Assistantship Program. The selected students receive full tuition waiver and get a chance to work with School’s faculty member on a research project. Graduate Assistantship is awarded at the time of admissions and does not require a separate application.

Other financial aid options include merit-based scholarships for returning students, international fellowship, and need-based support.

Tuition and Fees

Annual tuition and fees for the citizens of Azerbaijan is 6500 AZN and for Internationals 10500 AZN.

  • First-round application and scholarship deadline: April 1
  • Second-round application deadline: June 1
