Aliya Iman, the Economics student of ADA University talked to the “Career Development Network” about the challenges of completing an academic internship for students amid the COVID-19 pandemic. 
Aliya was interviewed by Brian Hutchison, Ph.D., CCCE, ACF21, who focuses on career issues. Our student answered his questions about her internship story.

Aliya, who gained an opportunity to have an internship at Unilever touched upon how the pandemic has pushed the business community to postpone or cancel internship programs offered to students. Aliya mentioned that COVID-19 has thrown the typical internship cycle into chaos and students are forced to postpone their plans to an undefined period.

Aliya mentioned that being adaptable, conducting clear communication, and clarifying the expectations beforehand are the keys to succeeding during the internship period.
