Opening ceremony of 31st International Informatics Olympiad  kicked off in Baku

The opening ceremony of the 31st International Informatics Olympiad (IOI 2019) was held on August 5 in Baku Convention Center.

IOI 2019 is jointly organized by the Ministry of Education, ADA University and Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies. The grandeur event is co-organized in official sponsorship of Acer company.

The event started with a national anthem performance.
The congratulatory letter addressed by Mehriban Aliyeva, First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan was delivered by the head of Humanitarian Affairs department of the Presidential Administration Farah Aliyeva.

The keynote speakers — Chairman of IOI 2019, Minister of Education Jeyhun Bayramov, honorary chairman of the Olympiad, Rector of ADA University, Ambassador Hafiz Pashayev as well as IOI president Greg Lee highlighted importance of this prestigious Olympiad in Informatics which brings together representatives of 88 countries.
 
During the intense competition in the framework of the Olympiad, the young talents will be competing to level up their score for bringing the 1st place trophy to their home.
The enriched agenda of IOI 2019 includes cultural tour of the attendees for exploring the spirit of modern and historical Baku and to make the Olympiad experience of participants into unforgettable memory.

The International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) is an annual international informatics competition held among high school students.IOI is the most prestigious computer science competitions in the world.
