ADA University hosted “Development of Renewable Energy Sources in the Republic of Azerbaijan” training seminar

On February 19, 2020, ADA University hosted “Development of Renewable Energy Sources in the Republic of Azerbaijan” training seminar organized by the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.

Fariz Ismailzade, vice-rector of ADA University welcomed the guests and mentioned that ADA University attaches particular importance to environmental issues.

“While building this campus we applied the most innovative solutions for keeping the area green and eco-friendly,” said Fariz Ismailzade.

While talking about the modern trends of the energy sector, Mr. Ismailzade highlighted that the Caspian Center of Environmental Sciences of ADA University conducts research on environmental issues.

Elnur Soltanov, the Deputy Minister of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan noted that diversification of electricity supply and taking certain steps for the transition to renewable energy, also attracting the private investment are the main objectives of the energy sector reform course of Azerbaijan.

Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Novruz Guliyev talked about the sustainable energy targets of Azerbaijan and emphasized that the electricity generation of Azerbaijan is slightly more than 8%.
The training seminar brought together the representatives of “ACWA Power” of Saudi Arabia, “Masdar” of the United Arab Emirates, a group of professionals from the public sphere and international organization.
