Remembering world-renowned Azerbaijani scientist Lotfi Zadeh: Online lecture to mark his 100th anniversary

On the occasion of the 100th birth anniversary of the world-renowned Azerbaijani scientist, father of fuzzy logic, Lotfi Zadeh, ADA University hosted online lecture New trends in Science and Technologies.
This scientific lecture brought together more than 100 participants, including students and prominent faces of the scientific community of Azerbaijan with a line up of keynote speakers.

Rector of ADA University Hafiz Pashayev welcomed the participants and recalled the Order signed by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to mark the 100th anniversary of Lotfi Zadeh. Rector informed that ADA founded a scholarship in honour of Lotfi Zadeh and 57 students benefited from this scholarship so far.

Professor Rafig Aliyev, who is considered the scientific predecessor of Lotfi Zadeh, delivered a speech about the scientific heritage of legend.
Professor Aliyev went on to say about the scientific importance of Lotfi Zadeh's work known as “Z-transformation” while talking about his book Fuzzy Logic Theory and Applications co-authored by Lotfi Zadeh.
Academician Roald Sagdeev, Professor of Physics at the University of Maryland, highlighted that the revolutionary theory introduced by Lotfi Zadeh is the basis of a new scientific chapter in mathematics and cybernetics.
After keynote speeches, there was an opportunity for participants to address their questions.
